AVS Steps, the world’s largest automotive step specialist, has opened new offices in Bochum City, Nr. Dusseldorf, to demonstrate its commitment to the German market and to support its growing relationship with key German-based customers, including Mercedes-Benz Minibuses GmbH and Reha Gruppe GmbH. The company’s stated aim is to become the market leader in Germany for the supply of specialist steps to the automotive industry.
Monika Schuhe has been appointed locally to take responsibility for the operation that will see the launch of its flagship cassette step products, the SL and EX range, into the German market. The new SL and EX ranges will be shown for the first time at REHACARE International in Düsseldorf, Germany on 3rd to 6th October.
Schuhe, who brings sales and customer service experience from T Mobile, Germany, will be ensuring service levels with key customers are maintained. Commenting on her appointment she said, “Customer support and satisfaction are a very important focus in our business relationships and we see this development as a further commitment to the German market. We have an enthusiastic and ambitious team that will support the growth of the business over the coming years and raise awareness of the AVS brand. I am delighted to join AVS Steps at an exciting period in the company’s expansion.”
The move to Germany follows the signing of a five-year contract with Mercedes-Benz Minibuses GmbH to supply its electrically operated EX 600 slide-in slide-out cassette step and sensitive strip for Sprinter minibuses as a standard fitment on side and cab doors.

AVS operates a European servicing facility through accredited agents in the UK, Germany and an expanding number of other countries. Every step is labelled with a unique traceable reference number to allow AVS to instantly recognise and track its origin and history.
